The mapping of translation in the Mediterranean Area, which is carried out with the Anna Lindh Foundation and fifteen other partners, is currently being finalized. Discover now the sixty studies already published on our website, dealing with translation from and into Turkish, from and into Arabic, from and into Hebrew. In a few weeks, general conclusions, synthesis and recommendations will be published as a result of an 18-months long work. They will be available on Transeuropéennes website and will be followed by a series of events aiming at diffusing them in France, Europe and in the Mediterranean area...

Transeuropéennes' project since the start of the 1990s, after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the siege of Sarajevo and the first Gulf War, has been informed by a critique of identity-based exclusions and the prospects opened up by the idea of "translating, between cultures".
As an international platform for critical thinking, Transeuropéennes privileges the publication of texts written specially for the journal, or contributed by writers and/or translators. Where possible, these texts appear in four languages; which entails considerable translation costs.
